We had a wedding to go to in NOHO in Manhattan. This hotel although not inexpensive was one of the lower priced ones that were relatively close to the wedding venue. We came in on the morning of the wedding, and only stayed one night but it was miserable.
The room was described as a "courtyard view," which was accurate, if by courtyard they mean dirty, dark alley. The room had one King size bed, but there was barely room for anything else in it. There was only about 3 feet of space on each side of the bed. The sheets belt like cardboard and the bottom sheet wasn't fitted, so ended up bunched up under me by the morning. The towels were rough and tiny. It was like drying off with a hand towel after a shower.
The bathroom was similarly small. There was a small vanity with a sink that took up the entire top. It did have a couple of drawers and some shelves in it for towels and toiletries, but there really wasn't much space to put anything. The sink is large, but very shallow, so the space between the faucet and the bottom of the sink was so short that one's hands hit the bottom when washing. The lighting was terrible in there, making it hard to see in the mirror to shave or for my wife to put on makeup. They used black grout between the floor tiles, to hide the black mildew around the edge of the floor and shower.
The entire room looked worn out and in disrepair, besides the poor functionality. Ot wasn't with the $600/ night even if that's reasonable by NYC standards.
