The lady who welcomed us was very kind. She waited for us until evening since we were driving from far away. The rooms are located in an old town house that is being diligently renovated. Our room was spacious and clean, with wonderful bedding. The only minor issue was a finicky toilet flush. The windows were old (as is the case with most buildings in this part of Scotland), so the sound insulation wasn't great—though that didn't bother me, as I always travel with earplugs.
The same lady served us breakfast and made sure we left with full stomachs. She even teased us because we didn't dare to order her black pudding! :-) For me, it was an interesting and pleasant experience, as we truly felt the Scottish atmosphere. The hotel mainly offers rooms and a breakfast area, but for travelers looking for a place to sleep and fuel up in the morning, it's perfectly fine.
