Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience with this hotel in Zermatt.
We had two fully paid reservations, but during our trip to Switzerland we lost our passports — a serious, unexpected situation completely beyond our control, supported by official documents from the police, SBB, and the Brazilian Consulate. We were forced to interrupt our trip and travel immediately to Zurich to resolve the emergency, which made it impossible for us to arrive at the hotel.
The hotel was informed as soon as everything happened. Even so, it refused any kind of refund, credit, or alternative solution, despite all the documentation provided. Hotels.com was also contacted and, unfortunately, did not offer any resolution.
I understand cancellation policies, but I expected at least empathy and common sense in the face of a clearly documented force majeure situation.
I am leaving this review so that other travelers are aware of how the hotel handles real emergency situations.
A great disappointment.
