Good stay, but fully digital setup can be frustrating
We visited Berlin for the Christmas markets and booked this place through Hotels.com.
The accommodation has no on-site staff or reception. Check-in and communication are handled entirely online via the website/app, and contact is done through WhatsApp with what seems to be a chatbot. Unfortunately, it felt almost impossible to reach a real person, as the AI kept asking follow-up questions. We also had trouble getting in at first because the code was not accepted, which was a bit frustrating after arrival.
That said, the stay itself was good overall. The area is fairly quiet with not much going on nearby and no grocery stores close by, which is something to be aware of. However, there is a café about 150 meters away where we usually bought coffee and breakfast, which was very convenient.
A big plus is the elevator right outside the entrance that takes you directly down to the U-Bahn (U8 Weinmeisterstraße). From there it’s just one stop to Alexanderplatz in about a minute, making it very easy to get around Berlin and to reach other sights or the airport.
The only real disturbance was on check-out day, when there was quite a bit of noise early in the morning from cleaning staff working in other rooms. Apart from that, the room was comfortable. The bed was good, the room was
