There was a ceiling over our heads. There were four walls surrounding us. There was an oven. There was a double bed (although we reserved a room for 3, and there was not even a sofa). There was a table (but with only 2 chairs for the 3 of us). There was a washing machine. There was a hair drier. Basically those were all we had.
The WiFi was not working. Neither was the TV set. The whole room was stuffy and humid, so anyone one entering the room risks slipping, for there was only a window that we dared not to open (for we were on the same level of the street, with road works immediately outside, so a fly made its way into our room when we opened the window). The building appeared as old as one about to be demolished and re-developed. Just outside our room on the window sill, there were accumulated all sorts of promotional leaflets everyone leaves as trash.
The highlight was the overnight leakage in the toilet, right through the lamp on the ceiling, beginning when all of us were sleeping. For a better idea of the scale of leakage, for the second night we managed to put the rubbish bin below where it leaked, and before we woke up in the morning the rubbish bin had overflowed.
Messaging with the host resulted in no remedial measure at all, except having a guy who spoke no English at all coming to our room during dinner time without any tool just to have a look at the ceiling in the toilet. Reporting the failure of WiFi and TV set to the host did not get us any solution either.
