I have been using FX hotel in for 10 years more years. Last week I returned from a 2-month trip from Taiwan. 53 nights of the trip I stayed in two different FX hotel locations on the island. Some of the reservations went through Hotels.com, others were reserved through FX hotel directly or local hotel websites. So, I think I am the right person to write this report.
Taipei location: We stayed there for 47 nights. Overall it is clean. But the floor under the bed/sofa, areas behind TV set and cabinet were full of dust. Hotel does have washer/dryer. But the dryer is the problem. It was not hot enough. After one hour and keep inserting about US$6 of Taiwan coins into the dryer, our few clothes were still not dry. My friend tolled front desk about our experience, but was tolled nothing they can do about it. Most of front desk service persons are polite, but it seems they were never tolled to smile to the customers like other hotels with same price range do. The room service/repair persons are all very friendly.
Tainan location: We stayed there for 6 nights. The rooms are reasonable clean. But showroom seals are full of black mold. Air condition vent was fully of dust also. Balcony which visitors are not accessible, it was very dirty and full of dust. We have to keep our window curtain closed all the time, so we don't have to see it.
