Some things I would have appreciated knowing before booking.
There is no front desk (this is stated on the website, but I missed it). We arrived in the evening with our bags and found a busy restaurant, initially wondering if we were even in the right place. The bartender helped us. We were told we should have received an email with self-check-in instructions, but I never received one (I checked spam and deleted files).
Our room was a cozy cabin-style room out back, separate from the main building. It had a refrigerator and fireplace, although a sign instructed guests NOT TO USE THE FIREPLACE, so worthless. There was no microwave (not a big deal), but also no coffee maker or hot water machine...a big deal for me. Seemed overpriced even midweek, so I expected more amenities.
The bath towels were dirty, neatly folded, but like they had already been used. They were replaced the next day, but, ick.
That night, we also found a few earwigs in the bed. We brushed them off, but it was unsettling.
No WiFi coverage..
The next morning, we walked to the main building for coffee. There was one small Keurig, but it wasn't working and needed descaling. No one was around to help. There’s a small store next door that’s serves some breakfast but not open until 7:30.
this is why I gave it 2 stars. The property has charm, but for the price, the lack of basic amenities, no WiFi , difficult check-in, dirty towels, bugs, and no coffee machine made the experience disappointing
