Lovely setting and interesting places to sit & socialize with other guests and staff. Bed was a bit hard and hotel was well worn, but such a great vibe.

Absolutely beautiful, well kept, and everyone was very kind and helpful. Loved the simplicity of it and the beautiful view on the porch. We will definitely be going back.. oh also the breakfast was 10/10. Loved all around. Excellent place.

This is a great place to get away from it all. From the sprawling front porch with a view of the Smokies to the comfortable rooms without TVs to the delicious pub food that is available, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There are lots of games and puzzles to keep you occupied, and a tranquil space for reading. We loved it and plan to return.

I didn’t know how I was going to handle no air conditioning but in the evening, the room was cool. The room was clean but basic as well as the bathroom. If you’re looking for a nice, quiet place to stay then Balsam Mountain Inn is for you.

From the very beginning, the Balsam Mountain Inn sang to me. I'd never been here before. I wanted a bed and breakfast near the Blue Ridge Parkway; and, yes, something affordable. The Inn is a HALF MILE from the Parkway, and the price was right for our mid-week getaway. Such an interesting, historic place. Between Waynesville & Sylva. So relaxing!

If you are looking for a rural mountain stay this is the place for you. Built in the early 1900s it's kept to period in most cases with working transoms and antiques all over. They have a pub that has limited hours in the evening and every Tuesdays locals gather to play music and have a jam session. The views are nice and it's located half a mile from the Blueridge parkway. My only complaint was the shade in my room need replacing and was falling apart. Also please note they do not have ac or tvs so if you a a big fan of technology this might not be the place for you. Personally I don't care I travel to get away from technology. I stayed two nights and the food was good. contential breakfast in the morning nothing fancy mostly cerial and yogurt they stuff some mimi muffins. I think they do a big breakfast buffet on the weakends but I stayed in the middle of the week.

Great location near Cullowhee, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Quiet setting and super friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. Each room is a little different.

Such a lovely, serene place! My goal was a calm and quiet trip with no stress, and I definitely found it here! So much history to the building as well, so it was neat to explore. Definitely recommend and will be back again in the future!

For a hotel over 100 years old, it was a step back in time. It was peaceful, quiet, quaint, charming, and just the place to unwind without noice, etc. The room was clean, the staff very friendly, and had the ambiance of the late 1800's and how the rich and wealthy stepped off the train to come to the mountains to cool down. Very good!!

This is a historic hotel - it is kept like it and has authentic charme. The rooms are clean , beds comfortable and clean, very friendly hotel team. The hotel is quiet . The personal touch is that in the evening under the covered porch guests and visitors can come together, mingle, listen to live music and have a good time. Throughout the hotel there are areas to sit, play board games or just wander through the exhibits of previous times decorated in the entry area and hallways.
