We usually stay at the LaQuinta in Bismarck when we’re in town, and the 2‑queen suites with a sofa bed typically work well for our family. This visit was more mixed. The sofa bed mattress was stained, the frame was bent, and there were no linens in the room. Because it was late and we had early soccer games the next morning, my daughter ended up sleeping on the floor the first night.
The next day, staff brought a rollaway promptly with fresh linens, which we appreciated, but the rollaway itself wasn’t comfortable — the bar in the middle and the very soft mattress made it difficult for her to sleep.
We also took our 9‑year‑old swimming, and the chlorine level in the pool room was so strong that our eyes burned just walking in.
On the positive side, the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and responsive, and the breakfast was above average. We’ve had better stays here in the past, so we’re hoping this was just an off weekend.
