Upon arriving around midnight, we discovered the pool was closed and the hotel was undergoing renovations—neither of which was disclosed before our stay. The hallways were dusty, our room smelled strongly of fresh paint, and the overall experience was far from what was advertised.
The most concerning issue was being assigned a room that was already occupied. After traveling all day, opening a room door to find someone else inside is an unacceptable safety and security failure. It also left our children feeling unsafe for the remainder of our stay.
When these concerns were brought to the front desk, the response was dismissive. Management offered a small discount, but it did little to address the multiple issues we encountered.
A hotel can survive renovations. It cannot survive poor communication and basic failures in guest safety. Had we been informed of the renovations, closed amenities, and conditions beforehand, we would have booked elsewhere.
