I arrived at 240pm for a reservation with a 3pm check-in. The front desk employee, Carmelita, immediately told me that no rooms would be available until 330 because it had been busy the night before and rooms were still being cleaned. Since I had already paid in full and was traveling with a tired toddler who needed a nap, waiting another 30+ minutes wasn’t ideal. I asked if I could get a refund and go somewhere else, because it’s only fair to pay for a room that is actually ready at the scheduled check-in time. She said that wasn’t possible because the room had already been paid for.
When I questioned how that was fair if a room wasn’t available, she became rude and said she could check if something was available. That should have been the first step before telling a guest to come back later. She eventually found a room that would be ready in about 15 mins.
During check-in she gave no information about the property. I only learned about parking validation after overhearing her explain it to another guest, and when I asked she was still unpleasant.
When we got to the room, it was barely cleaned, the dining table still had food on it. The room was also freezing cold. After turning up the heat and waiting an hour with no change, we asked housekeeping for help. They called the front desk and said someone would come, but after another hour no one showed up.
We ended up checking out. Another employee took my number and said a manager would call, but no one ever did. Very disap
