The woman checking us in who appeared to be the proprietor of the establishment presented as rude and irritated we had a service animal. She attempted to charge us a $200 deposit because we had him with us. We were on a family get away and my husband very much relies on him. The woman was angry when we pointed out it is not legal to charge deposits for service animals. She sent an email stating their intention of charging the deposit for our service dog. I had stated at the time the reservation, we had a service dog. Upon being made aware it is not legal to charge deposits for people with ADA needs, she then claimed the charge would be for incidentals. We had made the reservations weeks prior to our stay and the reservation was non refundable by the time we had arrived to the establishment. Had the reservations been refundable, we would have left and found a new place to stay, as the motel was very run down. The parking is seriously lacking, and the motel is in no way ADA compliant as they claim. The place has no elevator at all. The place is unsafe, and a death trap in the rain, with no grip mats to prevent falls. Shortly after we left the woman called and stated they were not refunding the deposit due to damage she insists we caused. We did not cause any damage at all. She was irritated with us having ADA needs. I would avoid staying here. The place is unsafe, the worker is rude, lies about damage, then keeps money she is not intitled to. STAY ELSEWHERE!!!
