We had a wonderful stay in Vico Equense and would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for travelers looking for a quieter alternative to Sorrento.
The location was excellent, with beautiful views and right beside the train station, making it very convenient for day trips to Sorrento, Pompeii, and Naples. We took the airport shuttle from Naples Airport to Vico Equense (Curreri Viaggi bus - we booked this online but some people bought onsite with cash but would depend on availability), which was very easy and took just over an hour. From the bus drop-off point, it was about a 5-minute walk with luggage, but it was manageable.
Check-in was smooth, and although there was no elevator, the staff kindly helped carry our luggage upstairs, which we really appreciated. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The continental breakfast was basic, but convenient and perfectly adequate for our stay.
We didn’t rent a car and managed just fine using public transportation. One thing to keep in mind is that there were trains every 30 mins or so, but they were often crowded and mostly delayed by 10-15 mins. Also, if you’re planning visits to Amalfi, Positano, or Capri, you’ll need to go to Sorrento first to catch the ferries. That’s something worth considering when deciding where to stay.
Overall, if you choose to stay in Vico Equense, this hotel is an excellent choice and offers a peaceful base away from the busier crowds of Sorrento.
