This was a very disappointing stay. Booked this for a short family trip and was really surprised by the problems here:
- The floors are all deeply slanted. Not sure if this is a foundation issue with the old building or it just needs extensive repairs, but the floors are so slanted that walking up the stairs on the third floor feels extremely disorienting, same with walking across our room
- The water pressure in the rooms was abysmal. Took forever to get a shower and was unsatisfactory.
- The carpet in our room had red stains all over and was sticky.
- The ceiling above our shower was moldy and falling off
- The bathtub/shower tub was a cheap plastic that makes popping sounds when you standing in the shower
- The breakfast in the lobby is insanely overpriced and absolutely terrible quality. We waited 50 minutes exactly to get one Scottish breakfast, one salmon plate, and one bowl of oats… And the food was awful. Cost? ~47 GBP
- There are no lifts, so have fun carrying your luggage up slanted stairs
- There is no aircon in the rooms and the windows are frail and dangerous to open since they have only small, desperately in need of repairs
This place feels like it was recently purchase, flipped cheaply, and is now acting like a proper hotel. Do not recommend.
