I stayed here while attending an event in New York because I was told the cost would be much cheaper than elsewhere. However, I quickly found out that wasnāt the case, and it ultimately wasnāt worth the time or effort. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I encountered problems.
Upon check-in, Iād been in my room for just a few hours when the owner knocked on my door. I extended my hand for a handshake, but he ignored it. I could see he was visibly upset, apparently due to a negative review someone had left about his property. Instead of approaching me calmly with questions, he was angry and ready to ask me to leave without verifying if I was the one who had written the review. Iād barely been there long enough to leave any review.
The buildingās stairway was very dirty, though the room itself was relatively clean. However, amenities were lackingāthere were only two dry towels provided, with no washcloths, and the bed, while decent, could have used a better cover. The temperature in the house was also uncomfortably cold, though the owner eventually provided me with a small space heater.
The living room was unfurnished, so if youāre considering this place for a group stay, itās really not ideal. Itās fine if youāre traveling alone and donāt mind sparse amenities or care much about appearance, but otherwise, I wouldnāt recommend it. In the end, it just wasnāt worth the hassle.
