We booked this hotel as we thought it value for money. In the c3ntre of town it is well placed for exploring Spalding. Very nice place actually, given a few eyebrows were lifted when we told others we were staying at The Red Lion! I do not know why this was, perhaps it has had a makeover and been restaffed. Anyway, we would recommend it. Nice breaky too!

Whist only a relativly small modest building the staff, rooms and general standard of the whole set up is commendable. Would definitely use again .only downside no onsite parking facilities but plenty of alternatives. Thanks guys

This is a great hotel perfectly situated in the town centre with easy parking just around the corner & the staff were excellent. The room was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was also very good value. I would have given a perfect score but we only stayed one night & the first time we used the shower was in the morning and i could not regulate the shower temperature so the water was scolding & as we had to exit the room by 10am so the only option was to have a wash. Also the plug in the sink was not the right size so the water quickly seeped away. Despite the lack of a workable shower & the sink plug issue i would definately stay at this hotel again & just make sure the shower & sink were ok on arrival rather than find out the following morning when it was too late to fix.

The staff are great and the position of the hotel was excellent We did eat lunch which was very good and large We also had breakfast which although was not full English was a continental with a breakfast roll We had sausage & egg bap and this was more than enough It was very warm but we had a fan which helped It is an old building and this has to be taken into account as it is listed and there are things you just cannot do Would recommend the hotel it wax very good value for money

Had a really enjoyable stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Spalding. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and full of character, and the location right in the town centre was perfect. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which made the whole experience even better. The breakfast was very nice, and there is a lovely pub atmosphere downstairs. Great value for money and a genuinely warm, family-run feel. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Spalding.

Always a great stay at the Red Lion, I had an issue with my Expedia booking and the staff were excellent in helping me sort the issue out. Was so able to get an early checkin. Great location, lots to do and the rooms were lovely.

Hotel is very central, clean and staff are very friendly. No parking but there is well priced local parking nearby. Hotel is pet friendly but you have to eat in the bar if you have a dog (which was not a problem at all).

Welcoming greeting when we arrived, checied in smoothly and fazy Room absolutely lovely, bed nice and comfy, bathroom very well appointed with complementary shampoo etc. Hotel is smack bang in the middle of town and is easy to get to When we go to Spalding which will be soon we will book again without hessitation. Thank you!

Lovely clean hotel and friendly staffn ice bedroom only downfall was the bed mattress was comfy could feel springs and every time moved it was so loud so had rubbish sleep the was no staff member jn the building at night and the numbers given to call no one answered so when checked out i spoke to staff who said manager would call me by lunch time and no one as bothered to call thats my only bad point was how bad the bad was and poor manger communication

Stayed in room 3, it was a beautiful large double room with en suite. Very clean and well maintained. Huge tv on the wall. Bed was comfortable. Very happy with my stay again and will return.

Checked in easily on Saturday afternoon. And had a drink in the bar with our dogs. Rooms comfortable, but very warm - equipped with fans. Breakfast very basic (£5) but sufficient for me. Very friendly, attentive staff. Great place - allowing dogs to stay for free. Would definitely stay again.

We booked the balcony room 28 but it was out of use. We were offered alternatives and settled for 25. It was a large room but furniture decor needed updating. But it was clean. Twin bed nearest bathroom creaky when getting in /out. Only 10.5 stone. Staff were helpful when told 28 was out of use and offered free drink at bar and free breakfast. Breakfast was very basic as only hot choice was 1 small roll (no butter) with choice of bacon sausage egg. Struggled to eat my dry sausage roll.

Really pleasantly surprised how well the Red Lion was presented. The check in desk was "oldy worldly" with a little check in window surrounded by stained glass. An old inn feel. Registration was mostly straight forward although as I had booked a double the IT system wanted to charge me for two breakfasts, but the staff realised the problem and sorted it later. I was in room number 4, Everything I needed was in the room and it was well presented, and looked clean and smart. The TV took a bit of working out and a simple instruction sheet may have helped. I was having a late afternoon lay on the bed and the music from the restaurant below was a little annoying. Could I suggest that the speaker by the fire door in the restaurant is moved or the volume reduced a little. Bed comfortable and warm. It did not look like I could turn the bedside lights off from the bed and had to hop out when it was lights out. Breakfast was Continental+, great value for £5.00. The evening meal was a delight, I have the Duck croquets and Oc Cheek pie with some seasoned potatoes and carrots. Honestly this was just divine and more people should just book a meal here if you are local and not staying overnight. Bit of a gem I would say. Kirsty and the team really looked after me. I've stopped in all the hotels in Spalding and can say that this is the best by far. Old world charm with great food in the heart of the town. The town needs a train service to Peterborough on a Sunday!
