We booked on short notice after another rental feel through. Casa Palmas is good value for money and was close to the family we were visiting. Because we booked at the last minute, there was some confusion about how to access the property, but a whatsapp text exchange cleared up the confusion and we got in with no problem. There was a persistent fishy odor in the room, though the room was clean otherwise. There was no cleaning of the room or restocking of bathroom with toilet paper or removal of bathroom waste over the five night stay, which I would say is below the standard of other Mexican places we have stayed. The cleaning staff were happy enough to give us toilet paper after we ran into them, though a text the night before to the WhatsApp number that we needed toilet paper had gone entirely unanswered for 16 hours. (That was the only time we saw staff there at all.) There was no information in the room about how to contact staff other than WhatsApp, but it's not acceptable to not respond to a text for 16 hours if that is customers' only option. We would stay there again, but it would not be our first choice
