Untrustworthy and Unprofessional

I had a very disappointing experience at Santa Marina. I booked two family rooms through Hotels.com, but when we arrived at the hotel, only one room was available. The staff told us they would arrange accommodation for us elsewhere and eventually placed us in a small double room in a nearby guesthouse – even though we were four people. We had no choice but to accept it and pay €100 for that night.
After 4 nights, when we checked out, I discovered that the hotel had also charged me for that same night at their property – even though we did not stay there. I immediately complained and asked for a refund. The staff promised to reimburse the €100 I had paid to the guesthouse, but the money was never returned, and no refund was ever issued for the extra charge either.
To make things worse, I was never even properly checked in at Santa Marina. I did not leave a credit card for incidentals or authorization. Despite that, the hotel charged my card without permission for both bookings, even though the rooms were under two different names.
This was a very unprofessional and frustrating experience. Not only did the hotel fail to provide the rooms I had reserved, but they also charged me unfairly and broke their promises to reimburse me. I cannot recommend this hotel.
