Absolutely appalling experience — avoid this hotel at all costs.
I was wrongly charged twice for two rooms, and there is no effective way to contact anyone to resolve it or obtain a refund. I had already paid in advance and was told I would only need to pay an additional £20 on arrival, which turned out to be completely untrue. Instead, I was hit with a series of unexpected and unexplained charges, including check-in fees and a deposit that were never clearly communicated beforehand.
The service was equally poor. The receptionist was entirely unhelpful and unable to provide any assistance when I questioned the additional charges — I got no clarity, no support, and no resolution.
The rooms themselves were in a shocking condition. One smelled strongly of sewage and had visible holes in the walls. The second room was no better — equally run-down and unacceptable. To make matters worse, we had to climb five flights of stairs with no lift, which was incredibly inconvenient.
We also attempted to arrange parking in advance, but received no response. There is no working contact number for the hotel — only an AI chatbot, which is useless for resolving real issues.
On top of everything, there are excessive and unreasonable extra fees — even for minor things like marking a towel or filling a bin. It feels like a deliberate attempt to squeeze as much money as possible from guests.
To add to the frustration, Hotels.com refused to assist in recovering the unfair charges.
