I chose L'Saranda House hoping for a few peaceful days to unwind at the end of a long trip through Turkey. Unfortunately, it ended up being the least relaxing part of my vacation.
The hotel does have some positives. Every room has a lovely sea view, and the sunsets are beautiful—provided you can look past the piles of trash between the hotel and the shoreline. The staff also deserve credit. Everyone seemed to be trying hard, in particular the breakfast waiters.
The biggest disappointment was the atmosphere around the pool. I specifically booked this hotel because it markets itself as a luxury property where I could relax. Instead, loud, repetitive dance music blasted throughout the day. The music felt much more appropriate for a trashy all-inclusive resort or a party boat than a luxury boutique hotel. It got to the point where I paid $50 to use the pool at another nearby hotel for the day just so I could enjoy some peace and quiet.
While the music usually stopped when the pool closed around 7:00 p.m., on some evenings it continued well into the night with very vulgar English lyrics (I assume the hotel did not fully understand the meaning of the songs they were playing).
If you're looking for a peaceful, luxury escape where you can read a book by the pool and enjoy the sound of the sea, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
