We recently stayed in a self-catering apartment that almost ticked all the boxes for a perfect stay. Let’s start with the highlights:
✨ What we loved:
The receptionist on Friday and Saturday evenings was a standout – warm, helpful, and a true asset to the place.
The queen size bed was incredibly comfortable – a real treat after a long day.
The kitchen was impressively equipped with quality appliances: hob, microwave, oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine, and even a tumble dryer – great for longer stays!
The space was clean, spacious, and offered alternative seating areas, which gave it a homely feel.
🚫 What let it down:
We booked for 3 guests, but only had towels for 2, and had to ask for more.
The third person had to sleep on the pull-out double sofa – once extended, there was no space left to walk around the Toronto layout.
It took three separate requests to receive bedding for the sofa bed – and when it finally arrived, it was damp.
Despite the full kitchen, there were only two plates and a single spoon – not much use for a group or even basic cooking.
The in-room phone wasn’t connected, so any call to reception had to be made using your own mobile.
Several plug sockets were loose and pulled away from the wall – definitely something to be cautious of.
💡 Final thoughts:
With just a bit of TLC and better attention to detail, this could easily be a 9.5/10 stay. The basics are there: space, comfort, & great facilities. It just needs a little polish to make it shine!
