This is a great property as it has a range of stay options plus a separate place for day visitors who want to do a game drive. The 'tent' was quite luxurious and game drives informative and exciting. i liked the option to pay what you use and not just an 'all inclusive' which is better value for people who don't eat and drink huge amounts. Fully recommend.

I’ve stayed in many beautiful hotels around the world, but Botlierskop is, without question, the best hotel I’ve ever experienced. Booked 1 night, stayed 2 - best decision we made. One night isn't enough! We don’t often return to the same place, but we’ll definitely be back. The setting, the people, the service, the wildlife — it all came together to create a truly unforgettable stay. We stayed in a deluxe tent, which was stunning and incrediblycomfortable. The spa was equally impressive. What really sets this reserve apart is the attention to detail and level of service. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely passionate. Huge thanks to the lovely reception team, the knowledgeable and funny sommelier, our amazing guides (especially Kali on our game drive and Victor for horse riding), and Jeclan the porter, who made us feel so welcome. We also had another wonderful guide on our morning game drive, extremely knowledgeable, though we sadly missed his name. The reserve is huge, spanning two valleys, and unlike other reserves, all animals live in the same natural environment. Animals roam freely, just as they would in the wild. The commitment to conservation is clear — from maintaining ecological balance to protecting endangered specie. You can feel that wildlife and nature come first here. We even had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of horse riding beside giraffes. We highly recommend doing both the morning and evening game drives — each offers something unique.

This is a very beautiful hotel and has amazing safari grounds. Rooms are beautiful, clean and inviting. Overall very expensive for what you get and has a lot of hidden fees on arrival. It is a shame that things such as breakfast or activities are not included or discounted with the significant cost of a room per night. We paid approximately AU$1500 per night and only received the hotel room. Even arrival drinks come at a cost. The experiences such as the safari tour and horse riding were excellent, and the staff members were fantastic. However, staff at the guest services and throughout the hotel facilities were not inviting and often ignored guests. Would think with the price paid and 5-star experience customer service would be better. When seated for dinner and breakfast you have a designated seated table for your room. If asked to sit in an alternative place staff members respond by stating "the viewing tables and window seating is for those guests who have paid more money and stay for longer". Understandable, however, due to the large period of time provided for breakfast and dinner perhaps guests could sit where seats are available. I would recommend doing the safari tour/alternative activities as a day trip only and not staying at the hotel. You can visit this hotel and have the same experiences - with much less of a cost.

Uma inesquecível experiência!

O hotel é muito melhor do que esperava. Lindo, de Muito bom gosto, o hotel oferece mais do que uma hospedagem: uma experiência inesquecível. Fiz o pacote completo que incluía todas as refeições e dois safáris por dia. O que não estavam incluídos eram as bebidas alcoólicas, exceto aquelas servidas durante os safáris e durante o café da manhã que é servido até as 11:00 horas, àqueles que fizeram o Safari matutino que começa às 06:00 da manhã. O chuveiro da minha tenda era ao ar livre... liberdade com total privacidade. Uma incrível é deliciosa surpresa. Nosso guia dos safáris, Mandela, é uma figura incrível. Atento e sempre de muito bom humor, inclusive nos safáris matutinos.... Os preços cobraria no hotel são justos. Pode levar seu próprio vinho. O único ponto fraco é a falta de clareza das condições da reserva feitas pelo hotéis.com. Não me disseram exatamente o que estava incluído e o que não estava incluído, nem mesmo depois de eu ligar para a central de atendimento. Tive que enviar uma mensagem ao hotel, o que somente foi possível após a reserva... Além disso, me passaram a informação que o check in é as 14:00 horas, mas como o almoço e o safári da tarde estavam incluídos, e esse começava às 15:00, não foi possível fazer o check in e almoçar com calma, pois, do contrário, perderíamos o Safari da tarde. Uma pena essa falta de informação. Uma dica: passem a informação mais completa possível, a fim de evitar uma desnecessária correria... Recomendo muito...

Excellent for a hazzard free Safari Experience

Botlierskop is located in a beautifull valey surrounded by mountains. The architecture and design are trully inspiring and capture the spirit of Game Safari with confort and style.The room was huge (Manor Standard) and beutifully decorated, with a great terrace overlooking Zebras, bufallos, dears, rhinos, etc walking free (no TV in the room if that matters). the food in the restaurant is wonderfull, very fresh ingredients. We had breakfast and dinner the 2 nights and they were always very good experiences. We got to try crocodile, ostrich, gemsbok, springbok, etc...delicious! As for the experience/activities: we tried the morning game drive: very nice - we got to see 4 of the big 5 and much more. Also we did the wonderfull catwalk with lions which was an amazing experience worth every cent being so close with those extraordinary animals, with the help of the rangers we felt very safe and recommend totally the experience. Just one tip: we found that making just one safari drive was more than enough, because the experience will not be so different from one to the next.

Gostei muito. Primeiro cumpre destacar a atenção dos funcionários. TODOS foram muito simpáticos, solícitos e atenciosos. A cabana era linda... se fosse fazer uma crítica essa seria para o Safari em si. Algumas situações legais, mas no geral parece um zoológico grande. Se você quer emoção de Safari, uma reserva particular não é o ideal (procure o Kruger Park).

We arrived far too early for room check-in, but they took our suitcases and stored them until later. After filling out the various registration forms, we signed up for an afternoon safari and had some lunch whilst we waited. The safari was excellent, with the guide asking what we'd most like to see, and then drove round the reserve until we could find the various animals on our wish list. The Guide was excellent, obviously knowledgeable and quite witty - all of which making for a great afternoon out. When we got back, out cases had been put into our room/tent. Our meals were first class and the whole experience something to treasure.

Fantastic place, the views are incredible. The food was really good and all the staff were all great. Our tent was lovely and as we were travelling on our honeymoon we received a welcome gift on arrival. During our stay we did the game drive 2 times and saw all the animals, the game rangers have fantastic knowledge about all the animals. Hopefully we’ll be back one day.

Just fantastic

Incredible place with fantastic views, wildlife, food, service and luxury tents. Just perfect. I could have spent a week there easily. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the game guides extremely knowledgeable about their animals.

Great overall, not the best game drives or b'fast

It was a great stay, they offer a lot of activities. We did a game drive, back horse riding, tennis, and a massages. However, their safari is small compared to Kruger where I stayed previously. Only saw 2 of the big 5, elephants and lions. It would have been nice to see all. They do not have leopards in their reserve. Aside from that, the stay was great, fantastic pools and dinners at the restaurant as well as a great service. I did not like their breakfast as it lacked the choices, a lot of pork choices, but for someone who does not eat pork, there was not much to choose from.
