Check in was via a mobile number on a hand written note taped to the front door. A code for an external key safe was given, which enabled me to unlock the front door. My room key was behind an unmanned desk and I was directed to my room by the same mobile telephone conversation.
Different!
The bathroom had a shower, but the switch was outside was difficult to reach for anyone under 5'9". There was no shower gel and the toilet roll was almost empty. There was a cup holder for tooth brush, but no cup.
There were two towels, a bath towel and a hand towel that was as rough as sandpaper.
The "wardrobe" was a pole consisting of three coat hangers and a trouser hanger. The woodwork was shabby and dirty.
The bed was made, but the room wasn't in a state for occupation.
On the second night, of a two night stay, the fire alarm was activated, and as I and the other guests assembled outside a gentleman who may have been the owner attempted to reset the alarm.
Conversations with the other guests confirmed that a number of them were less than complementary about the quality of the rooms and service provided.
This hotel is being operated at arms length.
There does not appear to be an adequate number of staff to run a hotel effectively.
I will never use this hotel again and would advise others to steer clear of this establishment.
