A poor stay and service. We had a terrible experience from check in onwards.
We had booked a half board studio. The hotel building is worn out, although rooms are renovated. Staff keep promising to do things but they never actually do.
Check in was very slow. The advert said we're eligible to early check in by 2 hours, but even when we arrived at 2.30pm, the room wasn't ready. We were sent by the buggy to a restaurant (supposed to be a club lounge) with minimal offerings.
At 3 pm, we went back to our room, but luggage took 30 minutes to come.
I mentioned to the receptionist that we were celebrating my wife's birthday, and he said they'll send a small cake up. Nothing was sent, and I reminded them at 7pm but they had not sent anything when we came back from dinner. When I asked the receptionist, he said they'll send it in the morning after breakfast, which again didn’t happen.
We asked for removing the alcohol from the room and fixing the coffee machine when we arrived at check in. It took 5 different calls and reminders until they actually came at 9.30pm to do so.
One faucet of the two in the master bathroom was closed as it was faulty.
No iron or board in the room, which is standard in 5* hotels and studios.
Breakfast was below average. You'd find 4* hotels with better variety.
The only two pleasant experiences were the restaurant ( Waka), where both staff and food were very good, and the pools that were generally cool and clean.
