Great room with walk in modern shower. Great host who kept us and the other guests well entertained. Breakfast very good and cooked to order. Lovely atmosphere in the evening with the local and Nellie in the bar. We would definitely stay again when visiting the area. Many thanks.

I took my g/f there for our joint Birthday celebration, As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by the Barman Chris who had a VERY friendly manner, it was a cold , wet windy day, so was very pleased with the coal/log fires at either side of the bar/lounge area. A couple of our friends turned up for a meal with us and after our meal and a few drinks we went through to the other room where their is a pool table and a dartboard where we enjoyed a few more drinks 😃 before our friends left and we retired up to Room one upstairs where we staid the night. The room was perfectly clean and the walk in shower was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and also spacious. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious just like the food we ate the previous night. 100% be booking another stay there sometime 😃 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😃

The place was very clean very large room and bathroom the hosts where so kind lovely breakfast and coffee host’s accommodated our celiac and lactose indolence which I was very grateful about great stories really recommend for a cosy place to stay

A great and interesting pub, great beer and food, especially the cooked breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff, large, clean room with separate seating area. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Lovely hosts, room was nice, spacious and good to have a living area rather than just a bed to lay on. Breakfast was incredible, best I have had (I've had a few!).

Arrived at the witching post and was greeted at the bar and shown to the room. The pub was lovely with an open fire going. The evening meal and breakfast was great and the pub is an excellent base location for lovely walks and short distance from the coast. With regards the room, I think we were close to the flue from the open fire and the room had the fire smell. The cold water tap on the bath didn’t release any water but we got round that by topping up the bath with cold water from the shower. I think the pub could easily charge a lot more for the rooms but they need a good clean and decorating (too many dusty areas and mould around the bath sealant unfortunately. For our 2 night stay, the pub was really used as a base for sleeping and eating as we were out all day, it certainly served its purpose. Needs some work to take it to another level but we really enjoyed our stay and the staff are very friendly and helpful

This is the second time at The Witching Post inn. We love the location.. easy to get to Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hood bay and Goathland. Pete and his team were great hosts and looked after us. Fantastic food, all home cooked and fresh local produce. We would highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

Highly recommend in Whitby area

One night stay en route to Whitby 2 rooms booked. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms. Rooms were very spacious and clean and had all we required. We went down to the bar for food and drinks the food was very good and enjoyed by the three of us. We enjoyed the evening with the locals and our host who made us all feel very welcome. After a great nights sleep we all had breakfast again very good and couldn't be faulted. All in all a great place to stay if you're in the area and very convenient for visiting Whitby. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Witching Post Inn and would definitely visit again.

The hosts were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The pub restaurant catered for all ages the food was very good and freshly cooked. The breakfast was also good offering a range of options. The room was clean and beauifully laid out. Would definitely stay there again as was not too far from Whitby or the North Yorkshire Steam Railway.
