Last night I had an unfortunate experience at the hotel you manage. I was in room 223, and the noise from your environmental system was unbearably loud. I noticed it when I checked in but thought it was the ac unit. When I returned from dinner, I turned the ac off but the rattling from a chase in the room was so loud there was no possible way to sleep.
I called the front desk who said it was a humidifier and he would send maintenance up in few minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, I received a call from the front desk that the maintenance personnel was on break and would not discuss the situation with the front desk staff until he returned from break.
After another 15 minutes passed I finally received a call back saying there was nothing that could be done due to “state statute”. I asked to be moved, and the staff said he had to contact one of you. I then received a final call back that nothing could be done, but I will bring you ear plugs.
It seems hard to believe that was the only solution, and I can tell you after stacking bedding, pillows and anything else I could find in the room to cover the vents where the noise came from, putting in the ear plugs, and trying a pillow over my head, it was still impossible to sleep.
My entire day, being here for business is now ruined due to lack of sleep. I plan on contacting Marriott corporate and the rewards desk, as well as hotels.com to obtain a full refund, but doubtful anything will happen!
