Down but not out
We booked two rooms for two nights. We had car trouble and a lot of construction that delayed our arrival. We called ahead to let the front desk know and they said no problem. We arrived at 6:23am and were told the computer system canceled our rooms at 6:00am and that we would still be charged the full amount, and they could not book another room for us. After driving and being up all night, we were faced with no where to sleep in a town where all rooms are booked due to college football. We called around and found another hotel who was happy to not only book us a room, but would waive the early check in fee and we were in our new room and sleeping within the hour. The new hotel overheard us talking about needing to wrap gifts for a baby shower we were attending and they offered to wrap our gifts for us while we slept. They also learned it was our anniversary and had champagne in our room that night when we can back. The juxtaposition of the two customer services was amazing!
