Check in was easy albeit a bit underwhelming. I love the old, historical, boutique vibe. My room, The Cook, was a small basic room with a comfortable double or queen (?) size bed. The room was clean and fairly well appointed.
Unexpected & pleasantly surprised:
* Elevator
* Continental breakfast in the second floor common area
* Complimentary bottled water in the room
* Overhead lighting AND dual bedside reading lights
* A small frig with pay-as-you-go adult alcoholic beverages (did not do, but nice to have the option)
* Plenty of towels and soap/shampoo
* Adjustable heat pump
Oddities AND disappointments:
* ONLY 1 wastebasket and it was in the bathroom
* No place to put recyclables
* No bath mat (a bit slippery) and no floor mat to step out onto
* Flat sheet OVER the comforter and then only a fitted sheet so I took the top sheet and comforter apart and flipped them so the flat sheet was against my skin
* The room had 2 windows which were small, high up & beyond my reach so I was unable to adjust the blinds. There was light pollution filtering in during the dark hours (luckily I had an eye mask).
