The towel holder was broken and fell off every time we used it. The toilet lid was detached and had to be propped up manually, and despite never opening the windows, there were multiple insects in the room.
We immediately requested a room change, but were told the hotel was fully booked and that we would need to speak with the manager the next day. As a result, we had no choice but to spend the night in that room.
The next day, the manager did not apologize once. Instead, after inspecting the room following housekeeping, he seemed to assume that our complaints were untrue because no insects were visible. We explained that we had already killed the insects ourselves and that the reception staff had removed the trash containing them, but this was simply ignored.
His response to the broken towel holder and detached toilet lid was no better. Rather than apologizing, he insisted that nothing was broken and that everything could be fixed immediately. He seemed more bothered by receiving a complaint than by the condition of the room itself.
We had booked a room with breakfast included, but after seeing the hygiene standards of the room, we chose to eat elsewhere and checked out after just one night. The unused nights were refunded, which we appreciated. But honestly, the night that deserved a refund was the first one.
