I had a really disappointing experience at the Eden Hotel in Santa Monica. The biggest issue is that the photos on the website and app are completely misleading. What you see online is not what you actually get.
The room itself was extremely small and had a dark, almost “jail-like” feel in both size and color. The rug was visibly dirty and worn, and the bathroom felt outdated and unclean. Overall, the condition of the room did not match the price point at all.
There were also basic functionality issues, almost no accessible outlets for charging phones and barely any space to store luggage, which made the stay even more inconvenient.
Another downside was that the bar and restaurant were closed during my stay, which was not clearly communicated beforehand and definitely impacted the overall experience.
That said, I do want to highlight that the host was exceptional, friendly, professional, and did their best to be helpful despite the issues with the property itself.
To make matters worse, valet charged me for two cars when I only had one, and there were additional undisclosed fees beyond the resort fee that was mentioned upfront.
