Before we even got to the motel, we quickly noticed the very sketchy trailer park bordering the motel property. We got to our room at 10pm on a 100+° day to find the room was like an oven. Because the hotel requires contactless check-in prior to arrival, I had checked-in hours prior, not knowing what we were in for. We tried to cool the room by opening all windows/door, turning on the tiny window AC to MAX, and turned on the ceiling fans... After 15 minutes we realized the room wouldn't be cool enough to sleep in for hours, so we had to make an immediate decision to check-out and find another hotel with cool rooms, which we did 10 minutes away for much less money. This experience was terrible and I'm unsure if I'll get any of my money back. If staff had just left the AC on, we would have stayed and probably had a decent time, even with the tweaker park next door.
