Our stay with this Sonesta was completely by accident. The app we used to book our stay jumped dates to a previous vacation search, so the dates we had were for the wrong week. When i called them, they refused to help us with a date change at all. Said all booking were non refundable. We weren't trying to get a refund, just a date change. We were meeting several of our family members for a reunion, and since the Sonesta had been so unhelpful on a date change for us, they all decided to stay somewhere else. Sonesta may have got our money, but lost out on bookings for 5 cousins and their families, too. Since the booking was locked, we decided to go ahead and come back to KC for a get away weekend and stay at this Sonesta to use up our booking. The smell of dog on the bedsheets was overpowering, and there was hair all over the bathroom floor and bed. This is a pet friendly hotel, but it was clear the bedding hadn't been changed from the last guests, who obviously, had a dog. If you're going to allow dogs in the rooms, it's imperative that the rooms are deep cleaned after a dog leaves. Other than a bit of a language barrier at the front desk, the host was was very kind and sweet. And the breakfast was subpar at best. We will NOT be staying here again.
