Star studded motorbiking easy rider room was cool.
Updated super clean rooms. Loved the lounge and show on feb 14 Friendly staff! Nothing really bad to say :)
This hotel is as much an art gallery as it is a hotel. It is is also very well updated while still retaining all the unique character of its age.
My stay was very noisy due to being across from the construction that starts at 6am! Then add the loud fan and the bus stop out front, that has a voice that announces the stop each time, and it was persistent and loud. Earplugs only stay in for so long. The staff were apologetic and comped some dry bar items but I had very little sleep over 3 nights. the shower, though small, does its job but they need to do better at cleaning in the less obvious places—like behind the door where there is a Long line of mold. It’s a great spot, and the food in the cafe downstairs is outstanding—it’s just a little shabby. Not all of the noise is in their control or permanent but new, better windows on the front would go a long way to reducing the regular neighborhood noise.
Loved being able to walk to Ossington Ave. and the amazing restaurants there.
Nice Art Deco, and very artistic vibe throughout the hotel. The room I stayed in was cute and clean. The bed was pretty saggy and the room got really hot at night - The thermostat did not seem to respond. As the hotel is right on Queen West, it can become pretty noise through the day.
Checked out after 2 hours. Called downstairs for room service (as advertised) and was told the hotel staff was busy with an event so no food was available, and certainly no food or drinks could be brought to our room tonight. Terrible experience.
Beautiful creative artsy historic establishment, much fun to enjoy, but on a busy street and over a bar so be prepared with an open mind. Earplugs are provided in each room :)
The property has some great unique things, like an old elevator and nice art. But that simply doesn’t balance the scales when our room was the smallest one I’ve stayed in, maybe ever. Motel 6’s have bigger rooms. There was not even a place to put our small carry-ons out of the way And the bathroom? Terrible. Not sure I would even call it a one-person bathroom. Very cramped, no where to put toiletries. The bed was comfortable, once you wriggled between the bed and the wall to lay down (two feet of space, max). And for all this we paid a premium price. Never again.
