I had high hopes for the Hafod, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations.
What Went Wrong:
Firstly - we booked a superior room which we expected to be of fairs size and a couple of days before check in I contacted the property to ask if we could be allocated a room with a bath tube they said they could accommodate this however when we checked in we were given a small box like room and the bathroom was very small and narrow to navigate. I couldn’t justify the money we spent.
Secondly, the room had no air conditioning which is understandable but the room was unbearably hot even with the windows and shutter open,
Lastly - we had night hopes for the bar and restaurant however we were left very disappointed there was no atmosphere and a very cold welcoming. When asked what time the bar was closing we were told 9:30. However at 10:00 when looking for a staff member we were told that all the staff are in the bar area having a drink which they were and we were made to feel intimidated to walk in as they had shut the door around them. Food was very disappointing the New York strip was inedible.
Final Thoughts:
I’m disappointed and hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision. I also hope the company considers making improvements to avoid similar issues in the future. Considering the money we spent on the room and food.
