A good location to explore Torquay, Babbacombe and the surrounding area. Very well maintained clean place, car parking in front of the building. Very convenient location to the centre/harbour ( less than 10 mins by car). Darren & Jo are very helpful and friendly hosts. Nice breakfast, pre order the night before and it's served right on time, delicious. We were very happy staying there!

Jo and Steve were so lovely and welcoming. They made sure we had everything we needed and Jo offered some great ideas of what to do in the area. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed comfortable. We had breakfast each day, and you get to select the night before what you would like and it's all cooked and prepared fresh. Best fried bread we've had! The location is spot on. Just a 5 to 10 min stroll to the sea front or around 20 mins to the harbour. Would recommend and definitely stay again.

I've travelled up and down the country and stayed in many places - this ranks up there as one of the best, if not the best. A warm welcome from Jo who showed me to my room, explained all the details etc - pre-ordering breakfast I always find a great idea. The room (room 8) was superb - good sized, comfortable bed, excellent sized bathroom (great shower) and the addition of a fridge was especially useful. With the exceptionally hot weather, the fan was a God send as well. Breakfast was superb and Jo and Darren do a superb job - great hosts who you can count as friends. It's also handily located - good off-road parking (if you get stuck, there's plenty of on-street parking nearby) and a 15-20 minute walk to the seafront. When I next stay in Torquay, this will be the first place I'll look for.

Midweek getaway

Had a fantastic stay for a couple nights. Nothing was to much trouble and the rooms were so clean and tidy with some lovely little touches. When we arrived a little early it was no trouble at all and was made so welcome. Would definitely recommend staying as we would stay again.

Lovely welcome as always from Yvonne & Jamie on our return to Mount Edgcombe. Extremely clean rooms with great breakfast, nothing is too much trouble. The position of this B&B is ideal for Torquay & Paignton. We will be looking forward to our next stay which we are already planning.

Fabulous weekend stay We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at Mount Edgcombe Guest House and genuinely couldn’t fault a thing. We stayed in the Torre Suite, which was beautiful – spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, spacious and with everything we could possibly need for our stay. The attention to detail throughout the guest house is exceptional and you can see how much care and thought goes into making sure guests have a fantastic experience. Jo and Darren are wonderful hosts, so friendly, welcoming and attentive, and nothing is too much trouble. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Breakfast was amazing, with a fantastic choice and everything freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. The pre-ordering system works brilliantly and makes breakfast feel relaxed and organised. Everything deserves 5 stars – the accommodation, cleanliness, breakfast, service, location and, most importantly, the hospitality. We had an amazing weekend and came away feeling thoroughly relaxed and very well looked after. Mount Edgcombe is an absolute gem in Torquay and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommend!

Our hidden gem

We had an amazing weekend stay with Yvonne and Jamie. They were so hospitable and friendly. It's the small things, plus the attention to detail that count. We celebrated our anniversary, and they really helped to make the day special, with little treats at breakfast. We would definitely stay again and recommend this guest house to anyone. You won't be disappointed. Our very own hidden gem, with a 5-star personal touch - thank you guys!

Obviously things had been adapted due to the current situation, but it didn’t stop them still being extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was very clean. We only had breakfast, but this was very tasty, and cooked perfectly to different preferences. Would highly recommend.

This place is amazing! So clean and the staff really can not do enough for you. Nice little 10 min wall to the beach front. The rooms are so spacious and clean. I could not recommend this place enough if you stay in Torquay we will be back. Thank you for making us feel Wellcome and at ease during the pandemic.

Great stay

Had a great stay even if it was for 1 night, clare was very friendly and accomodating.had a twin room as they were fully booked but that was fine,room was very clean , bright and fresh beds were very comfotable.they made great use of the space in the room.breakfast was lovely and hot (full english) along with a variety of pastries,cereal and fresh fruit .we will definitely stay again and for longer next time and might even get to see some of Torquay as it was just an overnight visit for a 60th birthday . Great short break

Great stay, We could not fault it in anyway, very helpful. And if your worried its a little bit to far to walk to the town centre, a taxi cost £5 Either that or a nice walk of about 50min to the town centre, or 25min to the beach.
