Ours was a cramped room on the fourth floor. There was no lift in the building and with no air-con the room was like an oven. The walls which were all painted black were chipped, scuffed and grubby. There was one window jammed dangerously open, partially covered by a broken roller blind which kept falling down at the slightest touch. The room was permeated by a rank, musty smell which got stronger over time. Possibly coming from damp from the mouldy shower curtain and/or the toilet. The lock to the door was held on by one screw, the others had come undone, making the room dangerously insecure.
There were no toiletries except for hand-wash and toilet roll and only two towels in total for 2 people sharing, and no bath mat. The bed linen seemed clean but there were only two pillows, one smaller than the other. A small table was the only flat surface that just about fitted the kettle. There was one plastic chair, no drawers, and a foot long clothes rail with two hangers. There was nowhere to put anyhjng down. The single glass shelf in the bathroom was almost falling off the wall. There were no toilet roll holders, the sink was on top of the toilet cistern and the toilet seat wouldnāt stay up as the width of the cistern and flush button prevented it. I absolutely would not recommend this hotel to any one in fact when we got back from our dinner our room neighbours were moving out as they couldn't bear to stay any longer. A night to remember, for all the wrong reasons! AVOID!
