I intentionally chose this place for its urban aesthetic. The exposed brick, bohemian, NYC-artist vibe (SCAD is just around the corner) took me right back to my 20s.
I rented the two-bedroom unit on the second floor. Itās a spacious apartment, not a hotel room, and thatās what I want. It was clean and well-equipped with a great kitchen (full fridge and dishwasher), washer and dryer, sofa bed, nice TV, and two full bathrooms. Truly ideal for a family.
So why not five stars? A few reasons:
First, the smell. There was a strong, musty odor that really lingered in the air. Something old, antique, maybe water damage? I noticed a similar smell in other buildings nearby, so it might be an age thing. Still, it was unpleasant enough that I had to use air fresheners and spray several times a day. It was especially bad at night.
Second, the noise. On the weekend, the street noise gets intense! Constant revving engines, loud music, the whole deal. Definitely something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.
Third, the elevator was out of order for a few days, which was inconvenient.
Minor note: some of the cookware wasnāt as clean as it shouldāve been. Not all, but a few items needed washing before use.
Overall, pound for pound, itās in a great location, feels secure, and the price was fair. The photos are accurate for the most part, though they canāt capture the smell or the weekend noise.
So close to being fantastic. I donāt think Iād stay again, but itās not a bad option.
