This was by far my worst experience with the IHG brand. Arrived at 6pm and waited 15 minutes on someone to show up to check myself and the older ladies in front of me in. They stated they had waited for 7-8 minutes before I arrived, and no one had yet shown up. Fast forward, I got the room I paid for and thought everything was fine…wrong!! My bathroom had water on the floor and after cleaning it up, realizing it was coming from the base of the toilet every time it flushed. Ran down to the lobby, and this time waited 45 minutes on someone to come to the desk (which I later found out the front desk clerk was working by himself and had to run to the 4th floor for maintenance. Spoke with Holiday Inn guest relation by phone, requested refund and ability to just go stay somewhere else, to which they stated had to be handled through Hotels.com. Walked behind front counter and office areas looking for any help, several guests left after 30 minutes and successful cancellation of their reservation by phone. I was moved from a King suite to a standard double room, not offered any money back, and told I couldn’t cancel because it was through hotels.com. TV didn’t work in new room, A/C was loud and broken. Had I knows I was paying $200 for a slum, I would have stayed in my car.
