Be very careful with this place. The owner works in conjunction with unofficial “guides” who take you to the medina and make hefty commissions on overpriced artisan items. The Riad itself, while aesthetically pleasing on first glance, is severely run down. It smells of mold, is full of huge roaches and has a lot of cosmetic damage and disrepair. Their website advertises a 60 euro massage and hamman as well as childcare. Upon my appointment I learned that there is no childcare and was charged 70 euro (mind you my children were in the room throughout treatment, not exactly the relaxing hour I had planned). The “massage therapist” is not trained and lacks understanding of human anatomy or basic massage technique. The icing on the cake happened after checkout. I prepaid for my 3 night stay over $319. I paid my overcharged 70 euro roach infested spa experience, I requested and paid my final bill after breakfast of over $75 (and conveniently their credit card machine was not working, welcome to Fes). I used her driver to depart. She had the driver pull over on the side of the road with 2 other men and hold my children and I hostage for 40 minutes until she arrived demanding money she claimed I owed her. They would not let us go until I paid her a lousy $30. Her driver then demanded our U.S. passports at which point things took a bigger turn for the worse. I have a case filed against all the people involved including the Riad owner who orchestrated the event. Dangerous people.
Incredible design but some areas need to be updated. Staff were very helpful. Stayed in December so it was quiet but it was very cold in the dining area inside. The staff tried to heat it with gas heaters and they helped us despite our late arrival. It was good and I would stay again but if they updated the bathrooms etc it could be incredible
We booked 3 rooms with a very high price tag and this was by far the worst hotel experience in Morocco, This is not even a 2 stars rather than 5 stars. Ac was broken, the toilets dirty and leaking, towels with rips, and to top it off the management is very aggressive and don't care to even listen. we are frequented travelers and we will NOT be able to recommend this place even to our enemies and tight how bad this is.
So grateful to Mr George, his son Jaafar, Mrs Amina, Mrs. Fatima, Mr Saeed and the rest of the staff. They were amazing and so helpful in everyway. We could not have been more THANKFUL to have had our first experience arriving in Morocco, especially FEZ to be in this Riad and feel safe and comfortable. They were very accomediating in every way and collaborative. Highly recommend it.
Amazing hospitality from Ben and his staff.
Riad Arabesque was overall a nice Riad. We really enjoyed the food and service during our stay. We had dinner there our first night which was delicious and huge portions, as well as the complimentary breakfast each day which was superb. The cleanliness left a little to be desired, I think a combination of laundry by hand and age of the hotel make it seem less clean than it really is. We also had a cockroach in our tub, but the house is more than a 100 years old and you’re in the middle of the Medina, so that could probably happen anywhere. We booked a double room, not realizing that it didn’t mean just a double size bed, but two rooms. Only the room with the two twin beds had an ac where as the room with a king did not and we were very hot. They were kind and brought us a second fan which definitely helped. The service and owners were lovely.
Terrible management and run down property. Staff is beyond rude. Food is horrible, made me sick. Please take this property off of Expedia.
The Hotel has bedbugs. The sheets had a trace of bloods which I did not pay much of an attention to until I went to sleep - killed myself 3 bedbugs and had to wake up the administrator in the middle of the night as my sleep was ruined. When complained about the bedbugs the reply was " you did not close the window". Although the property is beautiful, I would recommend to stay away from the hotel. In addition, the staff does not speak English much which complicates the communication.
Very lovely hotel with nice finishing touches on the public areas and rooms. Booked two rooms for our family and loved that they gave us adjoining rooms without any prodding besides one email (which wasn't responded to). Google maps got us real close to the hotel, then a random guy in the Medina rode with us on the dirt road that gets us to the hotel at the side of the Medina. Great free private parking. There is a separate door that connects the hotel to to interior of the Medina and lots of nice kids nearby to direct you where to go. The 2 hotel staff manager ppl looked really tired when we arrived late afternoon. They were not outwardly friendly. They served us tea and took care of our tour request but not smiley... There wasn't any hot water at night, but it came in strong the next morning. I would recommend this place
Over priced. Difficult to find. Very good service but very expensive for what you get. No shower no water in room. Good location next to madina and tannery
