This is not a five-star hotel – we have stayed at four-star hotels that were much better.
The hotel is very close to the sea, and our room had a beautiful view. However, the online photos are misleading – they make it look like a small boutique hotel with everything nearby, but in reality, the large pool shown is about 400 meters away.
Near our room there was a small pool with a nice view, but no shower. There are also no sunbeds on the beach.
Maintenance and cleaning were below even four-star standards. After heavy rain, the steep stairs to our room became wet and dirty and were only superficially cleaned the day we left. It looked like they hadn’t been washed for weeks. The room itself was nice and clean when we arrived.
One thing that really surprised us was the slipper policy. Normally, we expect hotels to dispose used slippers, and we usually take them home to reuse rather than letting them go to waste. But here, we were at check-out told we had to return them. My wife actually had to open her suitcase in front of reception to take out the pair of used slippers to hand back. Honestly, that felt both awkward and unnecessarily petty. First time ever we have experienced this. We now wonder how many had already used the slippers we were wearing?
On the positive side, the staff were very kind and friendly, though they spoke little English.
The food was delicious – both lunch and dinner excellent, and breakfast nice despite a slightly overcooked omelet the first day.
