I stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Kigali for one night after a long flight home. I had wanted to experience this hotel for some time, but unfortunately, the overall stay was rather disappointing.
I would first like to thank the receptionist who handled our check-in. He was efficient, courteous, and kindly arranged a late check-out for us, which was greatly appreciated.
However, my first impressions of the hotel were not very positive. There is a bar near the entrance, which we were told closed at 11:00 p.m. Yet when we returned at around 2:00 a.m., several staff members were still gathered in the area chatting among themselves, while the floors appeared dirty and unattended.
The corridor on the floor where we stayed had a very unpleasant smell coming from the carpet. The carpet also looked visibly dirty and in need of proper cleaning or replacement.
The room itself was comfortable, particularly the bed, but the bathroom was not maintained to the standard I would expect from a Four Points property.
The biggest disappointment, however, was breakfast. The waiters were friendly and the coffee was very good, but the buffet was poorly maintained. Several items were not replenished promptly, the boiled eggs were heavily overcooked, and I had to wait around ten minutes for just two slices of cheese because the station had been left empty.
Overall, I was not satisfied with my stay and would probably not choose to stay here again.
