It was really disappointing to find out that this place isn’t a hotel but a condo rental. There’s no hotel management or host agency here at all—no one is actually supervising or taking responsibility for anything that happens during your stay. It feels like the place is just running on its own.
During my stay, the water system for the entire property shut down from 10 PM to 5 AM due to a major leak in the main water line. The only notice was a single piece of paper put on the wall of the elevators—no email, no call, no announcement. Even after the incident, no one from the “hotel” apologized or made any comment about what happened.
If you’re lucky and everything goes smoothly during your stay, you might still enjoy the beautiful facilities and great location—depending on your room type. But if anything goes wrong, you’re completely on your own, and getting help can be frustrating or nearly impossible.
After doing some digging, I found out that quite a few resorts in this area—and even in Hawaii—are set up the same way. I’ll definitely be more careful next time when choosing accommodations in Hawaii so I can avoid places like this.
