IRRESPONSIBLE HOTEL MANAGEMENT.
Hotel does not pick up your calls especially on weekends, when it is the most time hotel guests will need help. I was on a business trip and I booked this hotel for a 1 night stay. 2 days before I am checking in, I had some changes to my flight schedule. I had to leave Penang in a morning flight so I thought staying there will be very inconvenient. I contacted Hotel.com to request for a cancellation and refund. They did not manage to contact the hotel probably it was in the night 9pm. BUT it is an international hotel? I called in personally the next morning and someone spoke to me. I related my concerns and issue about staying in the hotel and requested for a cancellation and goodwill refund, the hotel staff assured me that it can be done but needs HOTEL.com to contact them to verify officially. Okay, hotel.com tried several times to contact them in email and phone but no response. Finally 2 days later they came back to me with a rejection from Ascott. I was surprised because I was told that the room can be cancelled with refund the other day!!! I tried to call again on a weekday and spoke to the reservation manager, Yana. She took my contact and email promising to get back to me again on this. And 3 days later…. No response. This is the worst hotel service I ever experienced especially from a 5star hotel brand. There is a HUGE problem with the hotel management in Penang. The staff have a problem with listening. Asked me which app I used to book when I told her 30s ago….
