Disappointed Stay ā Not What I Expected from a Marriott Property
I stayed at the Residence Inn Mystic Groton after traveling for a womenās business event and was truly disappointed with the experience. As a Marriott Gold member, I expected a much higher level of service and accommodation.
Upon check-in, I was placed on the first floor in a room that was extremely musty. Since I planned to cook during my stay, I wanted to air the room outābut none of the windows had screens. I asked the front desk for a new room and was moved across the hall, only to find the same issue. After requesting a third room, I was finally placed in one with just one screened window out of fourānot much of an improvement.
To make matters worse, the bathroom had running water noises all night long, which made it difficult to sleep.
Overall, I didnāt feel valued or properly accommodated, especially given my Gold status. There was no courtesy gesture or attempt to address the inconvenience. I plan to contact Marriott directly, as Iām genuinely surprised this property carries their name.
