We made an honest mistake in booking Humble Boutique Hotel when we intended to reserve a room at Humble House. Unfortunately, we only realized the error upon checking in at Humble House. We immediately called Humble Boutique and emailed Hotels.com, hoping they would show some consideration by granting at least a partial refund for the 3rd and 4th nights of our booking. We recognize that the mistake was on our part and are prepared to shoulder a reasonable cost for it. But charging us for the full 4-night stay, without any consideration or flexibility, is excessive and unjustifiable. It’s disappointing that despite our immediate effort to rectify the situation, no accommodation was made
Instead, we received a generic, impersonal response stating that it’s against their policy to issue a refund. What’s disappointing is that their policy supposedly allows cancellations up to 24 hours before check-in — yet in this case, we were denied any flexibility.
Given the circumstances, we feel this was handled poorly and without regard for customer experience. Because of this, we will not be recommending this hotel, nor the booking platform, to others.
