We stayed in the lodge, and because of the time of year there were very few guests, so it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. The only exception was one evening when a family reunion was taking place until around 10:00 PM.
The lodge is historic and full of charm and character. While it hasn't been completely modernized, that's part of its appeal—it offers a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that fits the setting perfectly.
The buffet breakfast each morning at Seasons Restaurant was a real highlight. It was excellent and far exceeded the typical hotel breakfast, with a great selection and quality.
The grounds are beautiful, and the location is convenient to numerous recreational activities and local attractions. Our favorite part was exploring the many waterfalls and scenic creeks throughout the area.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again.
