From the moment we checked in, I should’ve called hotels.com. I waited and waited with my toddler while the front desk staff tended to call after call instead of prioritizing the person standing in front of her. When she finally did check me in, there was not a smile nor any welcoming comment. The room had no towels, which was somewhat OK with me because the towel holder mounted over the toilet was completely covered in dust, other than the obvious spots where towels should’ve been. The whole room was clearly not well-maintained or well-cleaned. The fridge and microwave were ancient. We played in the pool, which was over-chlorinated, cloudy, and unkempt. there were also shady people hanging out at the pool with their pitbull, who lunged and barked at my five-year-old when he walked by. After about three hours of the man sitting at the table with the dog while the woman came and went, who knows where, one of the staff members finally inquired about their presence at which point, they said they were waiting for their Uber.
