Biggest heads up? They don't have staff on site in the late evenings. I was there for a wedding and made plans late. I didn't see my e-mail that said I needed to call them if I was going to be in late. When we got to the hotel at 11 p.m., there was only the bar guy closing up. Fortunately he was able to provide me with a phone number of someone who could answer and tell me how to get into the room. So all ended well, but a little stressful there. Make sure to call ahead so you know how to get in!
The hotel itself is adorable and while it obviously had to be retrofitted for a/c etc, they did an excellent job. We stayed there in late May 2026 and it was HOT. We were able to get the room cooled down so we slept well. THANK YOU for the ceiling fan! And while the hotel is VERY close to the train tracks, we didn't find them obnoxious. They went through a couple of times, but it was fast and they were quiet with the horns.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. And furnished like you would expect for a historic hotel! But don't think you'll sneak in. LOL Stairs are a bit creaky - as you'd expect for a hotel of that age.
All in all, a very nice place to stay. We weren't there long. We would recommend it though!
