The hotel is modern yet in keeping with the beautiful natural surroundings. The spa facilities are fantastic, gives you a chance to use an indoor space if the weather is not great. The hotel staff are amazing. They are more than willing to sort excursions out for you, arrange taxis and just generally help. The location is wonderful, It’s outside of the town about an hour walk into Kotor or a 10 minute taxi ride and it’s a little more peaceful further out. You can get boat trips from the hotel. Very impressed with this hotel.

The location is good, away from the crowds of Kotor and the hotel has beautiful views of the bay. The beach area is nice. The poor rating has more to do with the beds and noise from other rooms. At this price point you should be able to get a good nights sleep. The beds were very hard. If I could do it again, I’d pay a bit more for a place that’s a bit nicer and more comfortable.

The hotel is beautiful and the room was stunning. It really is a gorgeous place. However the room wasn’t cleaned every day and the coffee etc wasn’t restocked. So they just basically made the beds and left towels every day. The staff was okay. I asked about taxis and they weren’t very helpful. I wanted to get some clothes washed too and it was just crazy expensive. When we arrived there was no one at reception I had to literally walk around and bang on the kitchen door for someone to go find someone to check us in. So all of that being said for how much we paid to stay there for 10 days the service wasn’t really up to scratch. It’s a very expensive hotel so would have liked a bit better customer service. Although it’s a beautiful place.

We were very disappointed with this stay, as the marketing photos and description were not accurate based on what we actually experienced. The restaurant shown in the photos was not open and available, the beach bar was closed (despite it being shown on our tour upon arrival), the pool in the spa was not heated, noone was working at the spa so we weren't able to book any services, and the staff brought in all the sushions and seats from the beach & outdoor pool so those could not be used as well. Definitely an overpriced property for few amenities available and as far as it is from restaurants, etc. We were hoping for a restful stay on property, but ended up having to go off property often given how much was clsoed or not functioning as expected. We also purchased an upgrade for a room in the historic building with a sea view balcony, and instead were put in one of the newer rooms, although it had terrible ventilation and a shower left the whole room steamy, and we were on the ground floor with some views of the sea but mostly people and cars going by on the road right by our room. Breakfast was wonderful!

The property is beautifully situated in a cove. Old & new architecture are blended well. For the price (mid-high) Essenza is striving for seasoned international travellers who are looking for quality offerings and solid customer service. The good news is that if it can deliver on both, then Essenza has the potential to be a standout spot for return visits from a loyal clientele, both in peak and off-season. The bad news is we found the service very inconsistent. Management would be wise to take note and help train employees to up their game. Pros: - Hotel personnel mostly speak English (great!) - On-site parking for those who do not wish to rely on taxi transfers - Spa with sauna, steam room, small pool and very small gym - Exclusive seaside deck with bar, lounge chairs and open cabanas with food service (during peak season) - Friendly personnel at reception and seaside lounge Cons: - Spa attendant acts very inconvenienced by your presence and changes opening hours at will. She locks entry doors an hour before closing time, barely smiles, and complains about having "difficulties with clients." With that attitude, no shock. - Housekeeping does BARE minimum, does not replace coffee, tea, water or toiletries. - Breakfast could improve with higher quality yoghurt and coffee from ground beans instead of powdered residue masquerading as cappuccino et al. Hotel takes debit/credit cards but many spots in Dubrota/Kotor take cash only + ATMs charge outrageous fees. Prepare!

Superbe hôtel à l'écart du bruit et des odeurs de Kotor, face à la mer et proche de petits restaurants. Personnel au petit soin et toujours disponible. Bon petit déjeuner, parking à disposition . En saison , piscine et bord de plage présents et agréables.

Stunning location!

Lovely hotel in a stunning location in Kotor Bay. Rooms are comfortable, with amazing views over the water. It’s great to be able to access the Beach Club while staying at the hotel, and to enjoy a dip in the sea followed by a glass of wine. Staff at both the hotel and beach club are very friendly and professional. Looking forward to a return trip!

Déjeuner préparé avec soin uniquement avec des produits frais et renouvelés chaque jour pour le plaisir des papilles.

Really helpful friendly staff. Hotel has a great location near the lake. Lovely small pool area, with free sunbeds and towels, also sunbeds and brollies around the lake. Lovely spacious room, most with lake views. Good choice for continental breakfast including hot and cold selections.

Beautiful!

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The staff are excellent and went the extra mile to ensure our visit was perfect. I loved the beach club across the road, with sea access, which is free to use for the hotel guests. Only 1 drawback is the parking - or lack of it. Often people would be double parked in a very small car park, with very little parking available on the roads.

Lovely boutique hotel with fabulous views. We had a sea view room which was spacious and great for sitting out on the balcony, but also you could take in the spectacular views having breakfast outside or from the loungers overlooking the water. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and local and we really enjoyed the different options. It’s a long walk into Kotor which we did once, plus there are limited evening dining options within a short walking distance. On a couple of evenings we walked 25/40 minutes to restaurants further towards Kotor. The hotel had easy parking and a small pool and there was a supermarket close by. The beach bar loungers were great and there was a large sectioned off sea area for swimming. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

100% recommended! Just in front of the lake.... and the views are phenomenal! We're so glad we were just outside kotor as it was quieter. The beach bar across is cool and wasn't too crowded. Staff were all helpful and friendly. We arrived at 1am due to flight delays and there is a 24hrs receptionist that helped us promptly. Spacious rooms. Definitely need a car there as taxis are pretty dear. We were about 10-20 mins from Kotor depending on traffic. Loved it ... thank you!

We really had a good time in this hotel . View was amazing, looking to the mountains and water from balcony . The only thing streets are very narrow and sometimes difficult to park. But it was very convenient if you rent a boat for a trip, they pick you up right in front of the hotel . Another thing we really liked the buffet breakfast, they had a lot of food variety. The location of the hotel was very convenient . Thank you so much to all the staff, they were great . Last but not least , if you need to do laundry, they will do it for you too. Thanks.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in September 2025 and loved our stay. The hotel is very well kept and very clean. The staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly and helpful. There was a great breakfast every morning. The views of kotor bay are unreal at this location. It is very walkable to many restaurants and there is a small market close by to get bottled water and other beverages & snacks. A long promenade to walk along the water gets you off the busy road on the other side and where you can get to the restaurants. We rented a car while here and driving around is easy and a great option. Lots of free parking at the hotel. There is a pool and a small beach club on kotor bay, this has a snack bar and drink service. The hotel provides you with beach towels. Overall great stay!
