Disgusting; False Advertising;Transitional Housing

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. Iā€™ve stayed here yearly since 2022, but this time, we were told our room was in ā€œthe other buildingā€. This ā€œother buildingā€ was in a different parking lot and had several boarded up windows/door. Parking lot full of garbage and dog feces. First floor smelled like feces. Filthy carpet. Had to shoulder the room door open (got worse throughout stay). Man from the front desk said he had to bring us towels and fix the TV (it never worked). Bathroom light was burned out; took another bulb from the room to use in there. Had to repeatedly open the toilet tank to stop it from running. Shower temp randomly changed from cold to scalding. Stains and mold on bathroom ceiling. No extra toilet paper. Toiletries were one bar of soap and a half-empty bottle of shampoo; room coffee was years old. Linens were oldā€”nothing like the the listing (or what Iā€™d seen in prior stays in the main building). Multiple large dogs kept in other rooms and ran loose in the parking lot. Cars in the parking lot never changedā€”most were full of belongings (looked lived-in). No issue with that, but it explains why this felt like transitional housing. We were obviously the only ā€œhotel guestsā€. Trash sat in hall for days. On our last night, there was feces on the stairs. If main building was undergoing renovation, we should have been told that at check-in or ahead of time (reservation was booked 3 mos prior). I stay in budget hotels around the country, and this is the WORST Iā€™ve ever seen.

I called Expedia to tell them about our experience with a very dirty room. The central area where the unused pool was kept locked but not drained was also the dining area. It was dark, dark carpet no lights except from the street-facing windows. There is no elevator. Not ADA accessible but for the ground floors. Everything looked old and run down. That 7 star rating must have been for the previous management. The next morning, we could not reach a manager. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived nor when we left. Breakfast was cold cereal and old coffee. A few bagels and some juice. There were domed chafing dishes that had crumbs but were quite cold so I donā€™t know if the crumbs were from earlier that morning or just not cleaning in several days. But the room was the worst part. The bathroom was filthy. The bottom sheet had a small hole in it. One pillowcase had 2 holes big enough to fit several fingers through. Iā€™m getting depressed just recounting it and thereā€™s more to tell.

**Review Title: ā€œStay Anywhere Elseā€”Literally Anywhereā€** I have stayed in some less-than-perfect hotels before, but this place set a new low. Advertised as a ā€œ3.5-starā€ hotel, I wouldnā€™t give it half a star if Iā€™m being generous. Where do I even begin? Letā€™s start with the toilet, shall we? When I walked in, I was greeted with the delightful sight of a toilet that was clearly left uncleaned for God knows how long. But, just when I thought it couldnā€™t get worseā€”it did. The only water running to it was *scalding* hot. Yes, you read that right. Flushing it felt like using a boiling cauldron. I donā€™t know what plumbing nightmare this hotel is running, but it was beyond unacceptable. You couldn't even wash your hands afterward without burning yourself, assuming you wanted to touch anything in that bathroom at all. As if that wasn't enough, the shower was a death trap. The water coming out of it was so hot it could peel your skin off. Adjusting the temperature? Forget about it. It was like the hotel wanted to make sure you left with third-degree burns as a souvenir. I couldnā€™t even bathe properly without fearing for my life. Now, letā€™s talk about the *nonexistent* cleaning service. Youā€™d think theyā€™d at least try to hide their incompetence by pretending to clean the rooms, but no. I waited. And waited. Three days passed without anyone coming to service the room. Towels? Didnā€™t get replaced. Trash? Overflowing. Sheets? Who even knows when they were last washed, if at all. I be

Rooms were not ready. Smelled smoky. Flies everywhere. Dogs barking. Ceilings falling down. This whole place needs to be razed to the ground and rebuilt. It shouldn't even be allowed to be leased. Nasty and very poorly managed.

The main sign isnā€™t there. It made it hard to find after dark. There was a small sign on the wall, but it had no lighting. The clerk only gave us one key card. We had to ask for a second one, but it didnā€™t work.

The pictures on the site do NOT in any way reflect the reality of the conditions the hotel is currently in! There is no water in the pool, the hot tub is covered, there is NOT a pool table or arcade games and the hotel has a terrible odor. The room was very dirty, bugs in the corners, and in the area where the mini fridge was supposed to be located. The jet tub was so gross there was no way I would consider using it or the shower. If I could have gotten a refund and wasn't so exhausted there is no way I would have stayed. I feel completely cheated due to the false advertisement and false reviews!! I spent 150.00 for a room that was crap, the mattress was horrible and the bedding old and ultra thin. The parking area is dirty and dark, no security lights in an area of town that is not super safe at night.

Checking was easy. Sure, itā€™s an outdated building. The room we were in was recently painted. Looked sharp. Quiet even though we had a room next to the ā€œCourt yardā€. Very impressed with the updates that were done. Will be staying again.

Unfortunate

Unfortunately this stay at Coratel was not as nice as previous. The one positive was the young gentleman who was new to the job. He was so kind and did everything he could to help, but he had very limited resources. We booked handicap accessible rooms and did not receive them initially. We had to settle for one handicap room for my mother and I had to get help to my room on the second floor. My room phone was broken. The tv was broken. The mini-fridge would not get cold. The sink drain was broken. There was a large dead roach. The entire hotel was out of tissues. My folksā€™ room was much better.

We arrived a day early and the hotel manager was so friendly and helpful. Our first room had a broken bed. Our second room had no hot water. The hotel needs some electrical work but yhe staff was super friendly and did what they could to help, including allowing the family to shower in another room. Pool and spa were down until the day we left. Overall, wonderful stay.

Don't stay here

The only reason we stayed here is because the other hotels were booked and they had a pool, oh but wait the pool wasn't working. The room was supposed to be pool side...nope, it was around the corner not even close to the pool. The sink in the room ran slow with yellow water, and the plumbing leaked onto the floor. There were stains all over the carpet (more than normal) The shower head was so full of calcium that it mostly sprayed outside of the shower! The area around the hotel was dirty and over all gross.

2/10 - InsatisfatĆ³rio

Came to stay at the hotel on the weekend to move my daughter up to college. Pool ans spa were both closed. Rooms were in ragged conditions. Leaks in roof all over the place. And dont stay if you plan to take a cold shower. Water pressure was fine but hot water lasted all of 30 seconds and i had to jump out. Was offered a "discount" on my stay due to my complaining. I would've rather been given a refund and stayed elsewhere. But i had 2 other adults and vehicles helping w the move so a change of stay wouldve been an extreme inconvenience. I will never stay in this place again nor would i ever recommend to anyone else. Better off going to one of the bigger places.

10/10 - Excepcional

We had a wonderful time at the hotel. The location was perfect, the rooms were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for a pleasant and enjoyable stay!
